* Collecting records....I kinda gave up collecting lps and have moved on to almost exclusively collecting singles. Not that I won't snag a good lp if I get a good deal on it, but I don't seek them out as hard
* Smashing fax machines with Randy
* Coming up with more ideas for movies/ Writing more screenplays
* Getting ready to direct Aeondeath's video
* Updating my myspace page
* Watching tons of movies.
* Working on my comic, the adventures of Bacon, the worlds greatest super hero
* Eating bacon, but not the superheroic kinds
* buying 78s
* Singin' the blues
* Being an uncle.
* Not sleeping when I should be.

* Obsessing over Louise Brooks
* Lots of other stuff...I will be updating soon with behind the scenes action from the video shoot, and more...I promise not to neglect you all so much

Tonight is seriously depressing...my pal Peaches died

aka the cat with lips
aka captain limpear
aka "the pervert" (a nickname he didn't really earn)

He had been a bit off for a while, but we attributed it to his hairball problems he always got...then last night he got really bad and it lasted into today when he left us while I was at Don's....he was one of the greatest cats in the universe and he will definatly be missed by everyone who ever had an adventure with him...I know I am going to miss him tonight when I go to bed and still keep my feet out of his empty spot, or when I get my haircut and he isn't sitting there watching intently (he loved watching people get haircuts), and I am sure there are tons of other moments. When someone has been in your house for over 12 years, well things will be so strange and less fun without Senior Peaches here.

Since livejournal has beef with the youtub player...follow the happy link!
* I read somewhere (actually it was over at Bedazzled she always looks "grumpy" when she sings...and after some research I can say it's true...the lead singer of the Shangri-Las always looks grumpy yet totally cute!

* I watched Alucarda a few nights ago, it was really good....lots of screaming in it..lots of blood and weirdness too.

* The Cold World show was really fun last night, I scored the Jam lp I needed and everything.

10. I am an obbsessive collector, I collect all kinds of stuff, and not only do I collect it, I study it, I hunt for what I want like Kraven hunts Spiderman.

9. I love girls with accents, weilding weapons or wearing crazy costumes/outfits..or any combo of the 3.

8. I think the whole classic rock era ruined rock n roll...who needs a "serious comercially viable art form" anyway..fuck I just wanna have fun...I commit musical hersey quite a bit hating things that you are always told you are supposed to like (Things like Pink Floyd [hate hate hate], the Doors, and most Led Zepplin.)...The Ramones were the greatest rocknroll band ever because no one else ever got it quite the way they did...it's supposed to be simple, fun, and played with everything you got.

7. I am really not happy unless I am in the middle of some kind of creative project...the odds of me actually finishing any of my projects are pretty slim since I always seem to get "better ideas" before I am done.

8. I am awful at counting, or anything else involving numbers.

5. For some reason everyone always says I am nice and usually seem happy, I tend to think I am a miserable mother fucker 99% of the time, go figure.

4. It took me longer to buy into the dvd revolution then you would think...I mean I was earlier then most people, but still not as early as you would expect me to be.

3. I actually like my job a lot, I work with amazing characters, and actually enjoy the work I do...even if I do get bitchy about it sometimes.

2. I hate the phone it makes me nervous...Talking to people I don't know and can't find an immidate connection with also makes me nervous and I hate it.

1. I really do like to curse...a lot.

* Hostel is fucking badass. I am so glad there are some people out there making movies with some bite, after the load of pg-13 remakes of classic exploitation films. It had lots of red stuff, and didn't shy away from the boobs aspect of boobs and blood that make us (okay me) truly love exploitation cinema...I really am made way too happy by a film earning it's R rating.

- Eli Roth is a great writer/director, I'll admit I hated Cabin Fever the 1st time I saw it, but the 2nd time I sat through it I totally got the joke...Eli Roth doesn't make any characters we are really supposed to like. I almost don't feel bad for anyone when something bad happens to them in either movie, it makes it easier to concentrate on the characters as people rather then "heroes" and "villians"

- There are lots of little easter eggs for us hardercore horror fans..a song from the Wicker Man is used in one scene and asian extreme cinema god Takshi Miike makes an appearence (the film is filled with his influence)

- Hostel almost gives me a 2000 Maniacs feel...if this was made in the 60's it would have taken place in the deep south and had rednecks insted of euros...since the whole "redneck massacre" theme is an a-okay one with me, I dug that.

- I heart girls with euro accents (okay most accents in general are a big turn on in the Elliott-verse)...yet another of my weird fetishes I guess, (2006, the year Elliott gets honest about all my wierdo fetishes...trust me there are more to come) but there are tons of them in this!

* I finally got my new episode of Smallville tonight, my theory on who is going to die totally changed, I was betting on Jonathan Kent, but now as radical as it sounds, I am saying Lana is going to buy the farm...The better keep their mits off of Chloe..Lana is on the top of the list of people I wanna see die, but I promise my thoughts of her getting rubbed out have nothing to do with that.

* Tonight I watched the last part of the Battles Without Honor and Humanity series (aka Yakuza Papers), it's often called "the Japanese Godfather movies, and I can kind of see why even if they do have little in common
The films are based on an actual Yakuza boss's stories, and take place in Hiroshimabetween 1945 and 1970, that is covering a long time, but all the actors age convincingly...the action scenes are super violent and well done, for some reason no one can kill anyone with one gunshot in this move (not that I mind) and there is lots of slicedice too.
My favorite part of the series was Part 2: Deadly Battle in Hiroshima..the action is awesome, you get both Sonny Chiba as a batshit young yakuza tough and my personal goddess of revenge (not very vengefull here tho) Meiko Kaji as a yakuza boss' duaghter and Kamikaze's widow she falls all sappy in love with a yakuza, but is bound by duty to marry her husband's brother...and since this is Japanese, you know not to expect any sort of happy ending.

* Soon I will be starting on the Zatoichi series...over 20 movies worth of Blind swordsman action...color me psyched.

* I have to come up with my top 10 records of the year this week too, I am lost I dunno what it is going to look like or if I can even come up with 10 records I liked that came out this year...eeep.

* This is the new lj, the old one is preparing his short sword so he can commit seppuku...this one promises to be more upbeat, less bitchy and more fun!...I am also actually going to try and do a better job of explaining what the hell I am talking about since I tend to talk about obscure geeky things all the time and people don't know what I am talking about so here goes.

* I have been on a big Yakuza movie kick of late, and I have decided that Bunta Sugawara is an amazing actor...after watching Street Mobster today where Bunta plays the complete opposite of his fairly cool and collected and very sane character from the Battles Without Honor and Humanity series in this film he is completely batshit!

* The other kick I have been on is the goddess of vengeance herself Meiko Kaji last night I watched my copy of Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter and lemmie just say it's amazing...Meiko isn't really as vengeful as she is in the other movies of her's I have seen, but she has the most amazing outfits ever in this one to make up for it...and she leads a pack of switchblade wielding girls too!..The film even has singing go go dancers and sometimes feels like West Side Story, but with more violence...big thumbs up.

* I haven't read all the comics I picked up yesterday, but the winner so far is the Day Of Vengeance special...The specter will defiantly be getting a new human host soon, and I (like everyone else who reads DC comics regularly probably) have my idea who it is (right now I am guessing it's Crispus Allen from Gotham Central after what happened to him in the last issue.
* Speaking of Gotham Central, let me just mention how sad I am to see it canceled...it is one of the books I most look forward to, at least it is more of a writer based decision, so we will have a real ending to it.
